Autograph Letter Signed to David Wilk

Boulder, CO: 1983. Very Good Condition. Item #50140

Boulder, CO: June 30, 1983. Two-page autograph letter signed by Ginsberg, addressed to the publisher and bookseller David Wilk of Inland Book Co. Written on the blank verso of two different pieces of scrap paper, including a postcard invitation from the Naropa Institute and an Art Now flyer, approx. 200 words. Housed in original postally used mailing envelope with a program to the Naropa Institute Summer Writing Program at which Ginsberg was participating with Anne Waldman, Robert Creeley, and Gary Snyder.

The meat of the letter relates to bookkeeping and bookselling, Ginsberg having been prompted to write Wilk because he still hadn't paid his bill for Jargon. That piece of business out of the way, Ginsberg then continues, "No I wasn't pissed off at all at you selling Blake song. Just that I myself wanted a few extra copies, and don't know where to get them, and Sparks of Fire people told me there were none, or something." Ginsberg then asks Wilk if he'd be interested in being the vendor of a few books and records, including the double album First Blues. "They are all poetry- pop avant garde, I don't know what--but need distribution, perhaps a literary distribution more than record shops." An interesting little missive revealing some of the nitty gritty business behind being a poetry mover/shaker.

Price: $350.00
