Bookplate of Skiff to front pastedown and bookplate of Hughes to front free endpaper with what appears to be a small arrow in ink from the latter to the former. Hughes, uncle of the billionaire Howard, was a prolific early screen-writer.

Originally published serially as "The Barge of Dreams," Clipped Wings is the story of a woman struggling to choose between her husband or her career as an actor.

Light edgewear to boards. Gilt at spine a bit dulled. Binding is sound and pages unmarked.
