Signed on front free endpaper with inscription, "To Sarah Bridge Graves, My very special appreciation and praise for your award-winning contribution to our Maine Conference workshop in fiction. George Abbe August 28, 1964." Graves was a poet, teacher and rock-hunter active from the 1940s to 1970s. Her archive can now be found in the University of New England's Maine Women Writers Collection.

Unclipped dust jacket is rubbed and worn along the edges with a couple very shallow chips. Boards are toned along edges with traces of shelfwear to edges. Binding is sound and pages unmarked.
