Allen Smith's memoirs of childhood and early adulthood, concluding with his brief tenure writing copy for Newsom's as-yet tiny PR firm, where he toiled at convincing the American public to drink tea on behalf of the Tea Bureau, and choose wall paper over paint on behalf of the Wallpaper Institute. Newsom himself is described here as "an intelligent and pleasant boss" (p. 288).
